Well, well...  Do you think Quake3:Arena will be out by BTM08?  We're in the last week now gang, there's still a couple spots open for BTM08 this coming Saturday so get your name in if you're joining!  The Mac version of the Quake3:Arena Test is out - I started to take the file down as well as the Dedicated Server, but I'll wait till I get back home, you'll be able to grab it off the SuperFTP tonight. (...Mac, why the *$%#@! is the Mac version out!?..  Who's idea of a sick joke is this!?  Macross will be thrilled!...).

A big happy 30th goes out to Viking!!  Jeff Walker, a long time 'Quake friend' celebrated his 30th at a surprise party thrown by his girlfriend, Kristie over the weekend!  (...she even had screenshots!..)  Hope it was a blast, Jeff!

One more plug!  Get your name in, the weather's going to be great so we'll have the BBq going full tilt - come on out and get shot then enjoy cooking your Gibs on the BBq!  More fun than flossing!

BTM08 was supposed to be Quake3:Arena, cuz Quake3:Arena was supposed to be out the end of March -- Nice job NonActivision (...Grr...). BTM08's right around the corner, please be sure to check the LAN button to make sure you're listed if you're coming -- If you're not up there, and you want to join us, drop me an Email ASAP.

As mentioned before, BTM09 will be tournament oriented, I've been over to our corner Awards shoppe, we're having a TankAward put together!  This coveted award (...Eew!  Coveted with what!?..) will be given every 6 months to the survivor of the "MeatGrinder" 1on1 Elimination DM which will be played in Quake3:Arena (...If it ever *&%$! comes out...).  More details to follow...

Update on a couple quick things here...  The Mail Server I've been putting up has been a bitch, if you've sent me EMail within the last week, there's a rather good chance it's turned into vapour -- very sorry about that, I'm equally frustrated, trust me.  If you want to be sure your EMail hits home, please use the "meatman@abattoir.net" account (...for now...).  Of course, due to the aforementioned plight, the Abattoir Morning Haha!! has also been placed on "hold" till we get things ironed out.  Sputnik called to cancel on BTM08, last time it was a jaunt to Bangkok this time the excuse is a family member getting married -- we're trying to verify =)

Good news, it would appear our areas cable network has been fixed-up.  Robes came out and checked all levels at the Abattoir, then gave us the inside skinny on a repair that was being done to rectify the packet-loss problem we've been having the last three weeks.  As of yesterday I've yet to see the Abattoir's server echo a packetless connection error -- so it would appear we're back to speed.

Quake3:Arena news, there are MANY Q3 demos floating around, be cautious, there are also many trojans mixed in.  Be advised the Abattoir is a KeyHolder site -- the split second the Official/Real Quake3:Arena Test is unlocked, the Abattoir will be notified automatically, and the SuperFTP will begin it's automated vacuum <GriN!> so you can rest assured, when the real deal is out, it'll be available to Abattoir SuperFTP users fast.  Please do NOT upload to the Quake3 folder any "this is the real one!" files please, if you wish to upload Q3, please place it in the Uploads folder.

Wowzers, time for a quick update, BTM08's going to be a blast, get your name in now - BTM09 will be tourney and we're looking at prizes, depends on what we see at BTM08 (...AheM!...).  Just finished putting-up a Mail Server, that was FUN!  Coke machine's been upgraded (?) -- As a result of the Mail Server going up, if you want to reach me, my EMail's "craigm@m-k.com", in the evening, and for Abattoir related stuph, please use "meatman@abattoir.net".  Umm, what else, NO, I've not forgot about the Screenshots!  (...Ugh!..).  Big big news on the horizon -- more when things become solid!  I know it's all a pretty vague update, but things have been crazy!

Due to the 'nature' of Tuesday's LAN Minutes update - I could only leave it in the 'public eye' for 48 hours - If you missed it, well, guess you should be reading the Minutes more often! <GriN!>.  Taking Friday off, so it's another long weekend for me.  Time to get caught-up on a few hundred things around here! (...like the screenshots page?...).

Shall I pull a lame "MeatMan's Abattoir2 and all it's servers are for sale" routine, or would you catch on to the April Fools joke right off the bat!?  (...Abattoir readers are such smart people!..).  The Abattoir's already put it's bid in to own PlanetQuake (...which is now on the auction block...).  Screenshots!!  I know!!  I haven't forgot, just been tied up! (...and loved it!..).  Tempest will be hosting a LAN Party April 10th, he can host a maximum of 7 machines, so contact him for further details if you're interested.

nVIDIA, TNT2's will apparently be on store shelves by May 1st!  Looks like I'll not have one in time for BTM08!  On another note --  Anyone seen Quake3:Arena yet!?  Cummon' ID, you said mid March, now it's April!!  Just so you know, if you find any "Official" demos out there for Quake3, it's a hoax!  Have a great long weekend!
