With my trusty Kubota AV6500 GenSet ready to power the Abattoir after the lights go out, I'll still be able to play UnReal Tournament as the world ends.  (...what a great way to greet Armageddon!..).  We're fast approaching Y2K, but more important than that, BTM14!!  I ask you to check the BTM button, if you're listed to play but can't make it PLEASE let us know!  We haven't had a single cancellation (...not that anyone would want to miss our first Room vs. Room match...) and I'm getting EMail from anxious stand-by players.

Other then the aforementioned, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you all for a great year at the Abattoir.  We look forward to dishing out the punishment into the next millennium and want to wish you and yours a safe and happy new years!  Keep the senseless violence in cyber-space - Peace.

There it was on the shelf!  Staring at me in all it's frost-white boxed glory - "Reach for your credit card now!  There's no use, resistance is futile, you WILL purchase me!"  So home I ran with my shiny new copy of Quake3:Arena.  My heart raced as I stared at my slow 36x CD ROM as it's access light twinkled while it filled my hard drive with yet another 425 Megs of delicious eye candy, faster you bastard, faster!  Oh why didn't I spring for the 56x, this is more painful than waiting for the microwave!...  Then the CD Key entry, a feeling of warm pride swelled within.  My eyes widened like a child on Christmas morning... it started, the into!  My heart was punching through my chest as Sarge came to life in wide screen cinimatics so exciting and real I could feel the bullet he takes in the shoulder, untwarted he continues mowing down the masses!  Oh man... Let me at this game!  This looks great!!

Then I played it -- Oh well...  Now for a game of UnReal Tournament.

Finally I got around to putting another Abattoir Server into action.  You'll notice two IP's on the main page now, one is for the Abattoir SuperFTP and the other is for our separate, stand-alone Abattoir2 Game Server we finished last night.  At the moment it's happily dishing out major pain with UnReal Tournament, just IP direct, or look for MeatMan's Abattoir2 in your UT Server listing box.  Once I nail a copy of Q3, we'll get some dedicated action going on that too.  FYI, You'll also notice there's a dedicated Half-Life Server running, BammBamm's hosting an Abattoir Server from his cable box -- Seems no matter what your game, we've got you covered!  Keep practising, BTM14's coming fast!

The masses have spoken!  After my post yesterday about the UnReal Tournament Room vs. Room idea for BTM14, I've been inundated with rather excited responses, all being positive!  So there you have it folks, BTM14 will be host to our first Team Room  vs. Room Tournament played under UnReal Tournament.  I picked-up my copy yesterday... Impaired and his wife (...we'll have to think of a name for her! <GriN!>...), Slaughter, Lonefart, PMS666 and myself put it though the paces big time last night.  If you've not bought a copy yet, get on it!  This game is an absolute rock-fest!!  Needless to say, there's a dedicated UnReal Tournament Server running on the Abattoir right now in concert with the Quake3:Arena Server, go have a hack at it!

In unrelated news -- I brought my car in for brakes and tires, they called back with a quote of $1,830.00, I said screw the brakes, make the horn louder.  Looks like I'll be giving lovely earrings out this Christmas, hand crafted from Brake Pads, hope you like them, Lisa!

Quake3:Arena's hitting the shelves sooner than we think.  Tempest dropped me an alert to a posting he saw on Scary's site saying Activision's changed the date for retail release to December 5th!  In other "Abattoir Related News" there's been discussion in the circle for BTM14 to be the first official Team oriented party, room 1 vs. room 2! UnReal Tournament's a hot number and we've been asked by more than a few people to host it at BTM14.  We're asking for feedback folks!  If we do this, we'll draw names from a hat to determine who sets up where then we have a major battle between the two teams.  Sound good?!
