SEPTEMBER 2000 MINUTES ARCHIVE
11:17pm Sat Sep 30, 2000
Squeaky clean and dead!Sparks FlyWe're getting a lot of flack about the lack of updates on the LAN Minutes...  You have to understand, we're putting all our efforts into LAN Central in order to assure it's up and running without flaws by BTM20 "Special Edition".  Never the less, here's what's been going on and this is where we stand so far:  I've discovered the ultimate in Hornet / Wasp control!  No it's not raid, it's "Windex"  I was spraying the windows down with that outdoor, connect to the hose stuph and a wasp "buzzed" me.  With quake-tweaked skill and speed I swung my trusty rail gun, er', I mean "Windex" at the Wasp...  One drop hit him, he hit the ground!  I don't know what the hell's in this stuph, but we're talking instant death!!  I'm not shitting you, if you have a nest to get rid of, grab a bottle of outdoor Windex and let 'em have it from 30 feet away!  Anywhooz, just thought I'd share that with you.  With respect to LAN Central, the Abattoir's Pool Table is for sale...  It's a 4x8 Hercules and for $1,000 even, we're throwing in both sets of balls, cues, cue rack, scoring rack and chalk.  This table's in perfect condition and would make a welcome addition to your home.  If interested, please drop us a note...  We're tearing it down in the morning.

Fun!!Progress as it stands...  We finished the drywall tonight and have started the ever fun and messy mudding stage.  LoneFart, Creach, Sgt.Slaughter and myself were at it and have the first coat of white up, after a sanding we're at it again.  BitchNheat's coming over tomorrow afternoon and we're going to finish the electrical and connect and cut-in to the breaker panel (...we'll see at that point how much I paid attention in school when I took wiring in shop...)  As of this point, we'll have a LAN Central with over 60 amps of service -- Just try and pop a breaker, go ahead, I dare ya!  All in all, I think we're still well ahead of schedule...  Next the drop ceiling and pot lights, then paint and carpet!  We'll keep you informed!

Nuke this!Kiss THIS better!Work continues and LAN Central's starting to take shape fast!  The framing is now done, layout of the floor's been designed and the electrical's going in...  We're installing over 60 amps of service (...including lights...) to assure there's plenty of hydro to go around (...LoneFart got a little excited when I mentioned lots of "Hydro" till I told him I was talking about electricity...).  Injuries incurred so far: a couple two by fours in the head, six cuts, four puncture wounds (...doesn't count unless there's blood...), two fingers smashed by hammers and about 16 slivers.  LoneFart receives a surprise, he's moved into his new place so the Abattoir breaks with tradition of paying with beer and buys him a new 1050watt microwave as a little "thank-you" for all his help so far...

Layin' wire...Here kitty, kitty...Steve Pierce (Zapco) comes by one night to help pull the new network wires...  He sure can pull wire well, makes one wonder how much practice he's had.  The second hub arrived today to double the Abattoir's network capacity and the new server corner closet's coming along great...  All in all, we're ahead of schedule with construction so we're looking good.  While doing a little network running, we removed the cold air return vent from the wall on the first floor...  Nayla the cat decided to "explore" and climbed into the wall.  While downstairs we suddenly hear the "ca-clunk" of duct work moving and look up to see movement in the ducts, "God-damned cat's in the ducts!"  Although hard to see in this thumbnail, that's her looking up from inside the floor at us as we try to coax her to come out...  We reached in with the digital camera and took a shot of the duct from the inside and you can just make out her silhouette 25 feet down.  Funny at the time, guess you had to be there!  Next we have to remove the entire basement window in order to get the drywall into the basement...  The fun continues as the "Tools of Mass Construction" rage forward!

This is gonna' hurt! And so the construction of LAN Central continues through the weekend (...or at least till we ran out of supplies on Monday...).  HitMan and his new wife Samantha made a surprise drop in as well as BitchNheat and Melissa (...his new leg chain -- Kiddin!..) who all took a swing with the hammer.  LoneFart and myself will continue tonight to finish up the framing now that I've brought home another load of supplies, then it's into the electric and networking.

We're saved! In my haste to post an update on Friday I negated to pass on some exciting news!  The Dick is officially out, and our new neighbours have already moved in and enjoyed a beer with us in the backyard!  We now have two young women living beside us (...neither of which are afraid of daylight...)  We were hoping for two young female nudists who were exhibitionists, but this will do fine (...quite the upgrade!..)  Welcome to the neighbourhood!  (...They know about the Abattoir and have already read up on DickHead...). Kathryn was sitting outside to hear DickHead's last words as his wife asked "Should I lock the door?  Is there anything I should do?" to which he said, "No...  Just get in the car!".  Bye-bye now.  As of now, BTM20 is full to capacity and all paid up, it's a waiting game now!
