Guess
the Fancy Feast wasn't good enough for him, our Possum's not returned...
Broke into a little Half-Life the other night, first time I've played it
in almost a year. Anyone up for a round or two at BTM21?
I've been doing a little script work on the Abattoir
and am pleased to announce our BBS Message

page, notice any additions? Now you
can post your rants live on Abattoir.Net,
give it a try (...and let me know if you encounter any problems...)
 Look
at us go! Seems Abattoir.Net
will be hitting its 30,000th visit
some time today or tomorrow morning, neat'o. Seems also the Abattoir
has now become home to a rather strange marsupial... We left a garbage
bag out on the rear balcony the other night only to find it torn-up in
the morning with tracks all over the deck. "Damned Racoons" was my
first thought, not quite the case I found out the next morning when I opened
the rear door to head out for work. There I stood toe to toe (...literally
14 inches away...) with a large "Possum"! What the HELL
is a Possum doing in Oakville, Ontario late November!? (...forget
the time of year... What the hell's a Possum doing in Ontario!!?..)
At least we're pretty sure it's a Possum.
Looks
like the little critter's calling the Abattoir
home now. We put a can of Fancy Feast in front of him and all watched
through the door while he "played dead". Didn't take long before
Stuii the cat wandered up curious as to what's caught all the attention,
now he's pinned to the door and hasn't blinked in about three hours.
Of course, I left my digital camera at work, so I couldn't grab a snap
shot of this little rat-tailed fuzzy critter (...whom we've now given
the name "Sniffer"...) but with great grub like Fancy Feast awaiting
him again tonight, I'm confident we'll be seeing more of him. Abattoir
mascot!? We'll try to grab a picture for you tonight.
Speaking
of pictures... (...nice segue huh?..) Have any of you noticed
any changes / additions to the Main page of Abattoir.Net?
Thought I'd give you a "head's up" (...so to speak...)
 Not
too much to update about at this time... We've had some complaints
about the Abattoir Game Servers
not being up, Homer
was the final nag last night that got me off my ass. The Servers
are now up and running again and with Cable actually starting to stabilize
and the upload cap being cut in half, the Servers are happier than ever.
Did a little romping on them last night with a few people. Give 'em
a work out if you get the urge to Quake
or do a little UnReal.
I'll be on the Quake3 Server
tonight at about 6:30pm if you want to come out and slap me around a little
<GriN!>
We'll
soon be starting work on the Server Closet and setting up the brand new
Game Server (...the little in-house server just isn't robust enough
to support 24 people during the BTM
LAN Parties so we have to punch it up a notch...)
Then the MeatCAM
moves into LAN Central,
the SuperFTP
moves in and is transferred to the new servers and possibly an Abattoir.Net
Mail Server will be going online (..remember
I mentioned that some time back, well I've certainly not forgot!..)
We may be kicking up the attendance level for BTM21
as well, we'll have to do a little counting on table spots but there's
a slew of disappointed patrons who didn't make it into BTM21
during registration (...sorry, you've gotta' be fast! Little we
can do there...) We'll keep you posted!

me out! I'm an UnReal Tournament Skin! I did a little "vanity
surfing" on Yahoo.ca and Abattoir.Net
is the first match that comes up when you search for "MeatMan", but I also
found this! Michael Baugh made a skin for UnReal called "MeatMan"...
It's not really after yours truly of course, this skin shows my ass as
I run around the maps in my spandex (...scary!..) Check his
work out on Polycount!
Just
a reminder, if you want in for BTM21,
you best register fast, we're filling up again!
It's a little "premature" to say, but it looks like we might be getting
or first sponsor for the BTMs...
Several employees at Gino's Pizza
have suggested I talk to the owner, and I have, he's interested in sponsoring!
Pizza... The natural food.
 All's
normal at Abattoir Control,
however, we've had a few reports of people filling out the registration
form for BTM21
but their names have not appeared in the BTM
Listing. We've spent some time attempting to troubleshoot the
problem, but cannot find any flaws in the code. As it stands, there
should be no longer than a 12 hour period between filling in the registration
form and your name appearing on the BTM
List... If you've filled in the form and your name's not in the
listing, please email your information
to us and we'll add you manually. We apologize for this inconvenience,
but we're sure it's somehow Microsoft's fault.
 What
an astute bunch of readers the Abattoir
has... Nothing was mentioned about the date announcement for BTM21
"Holiday Edition" in the Morning
Haha!!, in the Minutes
or anywhere else for that matter, all we did was empty the BTM
Listing and put in the date -- WhammO! Six registrations came
in. Either way, consider the date set! BTM21
"Holiday Edition" has been slotted for December
9th. We don't need to tell you to register
fast, we think you know the drill... Check your calendars, make sure
you're clear, make sure your homework's done, your room is clean, your
chores have been done and that you've been naughty, not nice... then get
your registration in! Let's bring in the holiday season with
a blast...
You'll
also be thrilled to learn we've changed (...by popular demand...)
the play fee to $20 even, due to the thousands spent to build LAN
Central and double our network capacity (...you
had to know that was was coming!..) but we're still by far the best
bang for the buck! Perhaps we'll have a draw for the 60
Gigabyte Hard Drive again (...did we mention
the last one wasn't a permanent prize, HitMan? Be sure to have it
backed-up and ready for re-draw for BTM21,
