New Year's Eve everyone! We've got it all tonight, tunes, a little
hockey, Impaired
might make the slot machine sing again like last night, a chit load of
finger food and of course, booze! Creach,
Marijana
and myself headed out yesterday afternoon to "pick-up a few things" for
tonight's game and New Years romp, 4 hours later and over $1,000 poorer,
we returned to the Abattoir pooped.
Open invite (...as stated before...) if you have no plans for New
Years, come on out and enjoy the shrimp and meatballs, try one of our "happy
shooters" and ring in the new year with us! You don't need to bring
a thing, just yourself! Please don't drink and drive, have a safe
and festive evening!
One
side note regarding the Abattoir BBs, we've
also put up a "icon" folder... There are now tagable thumbnails of
the Abattoir patrons so you can link directly
in your posts. If there are any images you want to link to, just
email them to us and we'll place them in the "icon" folder. To add
your image to your post, just make reference to http://abattoir.net/icon/imagename.jpg,
where "imagename" is your play name. The following icons have been
made so far: bammbamm.jpg, bitchnheat.jpg, corpse.jpg, creach.jpg,
freak.jpg, hitman.jpg, homer.jpg, impaired.jpg, and lonefart.jpg.
 Hope
everyone survived the festive holiday season, now with New Years coming,
it's time to get the beer chilled and the party platters out! The
Leaf's are playing tonight (...as opposed to not playing, like last
night...) and the welcome mat's out if you want to come over and throw
shrimp at the monitor (...the Leaf's seem to be in a controlled dive
similar to what MirCorp's going to do to to the 15 year old Mir Space Station
in February...) Let's try and show some support tonight as Mario
makes his "come back" appearance.
We'll
have a new "feature" at the
Abattoir soon...
For the hockey parties, we'll be drawing each game for the "Abattoir
Best Seat in the House", a reconditioned seat from Maple
Leaf Gardens Red Section will be added in February! Winner
of the draw gets prime seating, drinks for free and snacks till he/she
bursts (...all on the house of course and served directly by a scant-clad
stripper, well... maybe...) We'll let you know when the 'package'
arrives. (...man, Wednesday already!?..)

Marijana's been busy in the kitchen and from what I can tell, there will

We've received some mail regarding (Leaf's suck) the Abattoir BBs, seems there's been problems posting with "Internal Server Error" coming up. I tried to do an update to the Main Page on Abattoir.Net and the server wouldn't let me! (...everyone notice the new "Holiday" look on the Main Page?..) I've touched base with our hosting company and it turns out Abattoir.Net has exceeded the file count limitations they put on Domains <GriN!> Anywhooz, we've upgraded and we're good to go... Sorry for the interruption (Leaf's suck) in service. Just yesterday I was contacted by Cgocable regarding my aforementioned email to them on the overbilling issue, they simply stated (Leaf's suck) a credit could not be processed through email and I would have to contact them directly. (...and of course, I will...) After
seeing "American McGee's Alice" at the last
BTM,
I was compelled to purchase it immediately... Here's my review:
This game is HIGHLY addictive, the story line in Alice
is a totally engrossing mind altering, head screw.
The
game's screenplay and levels are total immersion, I'll not say anything
more about it at this time -- Go and buy the game. That's all for
now... We're firing up the BBQ and starting our little Friday Office
Christmas thingy now... Peace, enjoy, have a safe Holiday weekend!

like New Years at the Abattoir's
a go! We've had some great feedback about it, so we're going ahead
with it... If you're looking for a place to party New Year's eve,
the Abattoir's
open (...and we now have Fog!..). Let
us know if you want to attend, we'll be doing a MLP,
it's kinda' like a BTM,
but smaller... Six machines set-up for a little frag-fun between
cocktail weenies and Champagne (...MLP
stands to "Mini-LAN-Party" in case you're wondering...)
Regarding
by Wave cable bill... I've ripped a letter off to Cgocable
regarding the over billing they've been doing, let's hope they "do the
right thing" and credit us accordingly or this could get "messy".

Access, Pages on Abattoir.Net
not showing up current, broken links and so on. Let me put
these all to rest before I start handing out Bagels for people finding
broken links, there's a little thing called a Cache, and it would appear
Sympatico and a few other high speed carriers are abusing this technology
to make their service seem faster than it is... The link to the Abattoir
Bathroom Poster is good, trust me, I've tested it over and over...
If the LAN Minutes
and BTM Reservations
page are out of sync between your home machine and your work machine, there's
nothing we can do about it... That's your ISP buggering around!
They'll note that you've looked at Abattoir.Net,
grab the site (...or at least the portions of it you've looked at depending
on how they've configured their cache...) and store it, when you go
to take a peek again, they already "have" it (...or so they think...)
and feed you the "Not so Live" version, which may be out of date...
Speaking of bitching... I'll keep you all informed on the call I'm about to make to Cgocable about my bill, only yesterday I noticed they've still been charging me an extra $20 a month for a "Second Computer", which after the Abattoir Gateway Server went in was cancelled, and that was back in June!! I'm going to go through my bills and find out how much Cgocable owes me, then give them a polite "call" about it. Needless to say, this will be interesting... Let the threats and yelling begin! <GriN!>
On
another note (D-Minor) We're adding yet another "feature" to Abattoir.Net
for all you people out there with Palm
Pilots or similar knock-offs... It's
come to our attention that there's a few of you out there who read the
LAN
Minutes on their Palm
(...Bammbamm
was the first to bring this up...) Although this is fine, the
LAN
Minutes tend to get a "tad" graphical and
although the Palm
does a great job of it, we've decided to make a "PalmMinutes"
page for optimum viewing! If you have
a Palm
Pilot, aim your AvantGo
or web page grabber at "http://www.abattoir.net/palmminutes.htm"
and see what happens! :)

you're thinking of us every time you take a leak. If you want the

The SuperFTP's
been moved to a new server and as such, rather than spend 3 hours editing
everyone's account we decided to just clean its clock. All SuperFTP
accounts have been killed... If you want back on, just email me your
playname and a password and we'll re-add your account (...please, your
password cannot be "password" or your playname... What are you?
A hacker's dream?..). Ahh well, another 8 boxes of pizza ruthlessly
