Ok, I had the weirdest thing happen to me.

My cpu

Core i7 860
Asrock p55 deluxe board
Corsair XMSBLAHBLAH 8gig
Geforce 285 gtx


So yesterday when I was at work my bother came into my room and saw my comp was on so he put it in 'hibernate or sleep mode' he is not sure which.

fast forward hours later when I get home

NOTHING TURNS ON OR BOOTS UP. No fans... No lights.. I tried un plugging powercords, tried unplugging power supply, I tried clearing cmos, I tried taking the battery out of the mobo....nothing..

On my mobo I have 3 switches.. a clear cmos, power and reset. Normally I have to press my power button 2x for it to turn on. After 1 push these 3 lights on my mobo turn on, then on the second push everything starts to boot. These lights now just blink at all times and thats it.

I have a feeling that either my MOBO or PSU is dead. Any thought ppl?? PLEASE HELP

ok.... after taking everything out and putting it back in 1002139012873190283712037812093812 times i got the damn thing to boot.

One of the front usb connections to my motherboard doesnt work??
I had all 3 plugged into my mobo.... now it only works with 2 and its fucks up when i plug in the third...

It could be a weird short with that port where you've got it connected to your motherboard.

If you open 'er up, those front connections are attached with either a big block with several (5-6) pinholes, OR just 5-6 individual wires with labels on 'em.

make sure they're all connected to the right pins, and double-check they're clean/not touching anything else.

Wired indeed, Sounds like something is / was shorted..

Maybe your brother forgot to mention spilling the can of Root beer on your computer while turning it off.
